Hurricane Season doesn’t officially begin until June 1st, but it’s never too early to review hurricane preparation and response procedures in Louisiana.

2022 Hurricane Forecast

The National Weather Service (NWS) has since release the official forecast for the 2022 Hurrican Season, calling for between 14-21 named storms, 6-10 hurricanes, with 3-6 of those hurricanes developing into a Cat 3 or higher.

This forecast predicts increased activity throughout the Gulf and Atlantic regions that can be attributed to many climate factors.

The ongoing La Nina is expected to persist throughout hurricane season, combined with higher than average water temperatures in the Atlantic and Carribean Sea.

This early NWS forecast does not include whether the predicted storms will make landfall or not, Mike Hooks, LLC wants to ensure that our employees in southern Louisiana and across the Gulf are aware of the potential impacts hurricanes can bring, and provide them with the planning and tools necessary to mitigate these risks.

Special Thanks

Thank you Jimmy Rogers and our Lake Borgne project team for coordinating this critical local relationship.
