Dredging Industry Aids Coronavirus Relief Efforts

The Department of Homeland Security advises that essential workers include those that construct and maintain critical and strategic infrastructure. As part of the dredging industry, we are glad to see our fellow contractors able jump to the call and ensure clear navigation for the USNS Comfort as it makes its way to Manhattan to provide medical facilities that relieve the pressures imposed by the Coronavirus outbreak.

The USNS Comfort boats over 1,000 beds and will serve as a relief hospital for non-Coronavirus patients in an effort to ease the pressure on NYC’s land-based hospitals.

We thank our employees at Mike Hooks and others throughout the maritime industry for continuing to answer the call to maintain these and other critical infrastructure systems.
