Supervisory Responsibilities

Supervisory responsibilities include: • Direct supervision of 8-10 managers with approximately 150 total employees on staff • hiring and training employees • planning and assigning work • conducting performance evaluations • addressing complaints and problem resolution

Requirements

The ideal candidate will have excellent managerial and supervisory skills, knowledge and experience in operations and production management, the ability to interpret financial data, excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, strong written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to travel extensively along the Gulf Coast.

The Director of Operations role at Mike Hooks requires a minimum of 5-7 years of experience in operations and production management. Dredging experience being a valuable asset, however not a requirement with extensive operations management experience in a construction or manufacturing environment. A bachelor’s degree in business management, business administration, or a related field is required, and an M.B.A. is preferred. Educational requirement may be waived for the right candidate with extensive and relevant experience.

Certifications or Licenses

Required certifications or licenses include TWIC and Bachelor’s degree preferred.

Physical Requirements

Physical requirements include the ability to push, pull, bend, stand for long periods of time, climb stairs and ladders, lift or carry miscellaneous equipment, supplies, and parts up to 50 lbs, and prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
