All Hands On Deck

Southwest Louisiana just got approximately 2,000 sq. ft. of new marsh and critical marine habitat. It was all hands on deck Friday. Students, local volunteers, and partners from Calcasieu Parish all pitched in to rebuild the coastline of Prien Lake. After the cord grass was planted on the floating islands, we had the honor of handling the towing and installation with Phillips 66 and the sheriff’s department. It was a great experience for all, especially the kids who got to be a part of a restoration project in their own backyard that will improve the environment and protect their community.
